Call for scholarships for Chilean students to study in Canada . This is the Leadership Exchange program between Chile and Canada, available for the 2020-2021 academic year.
This opportunity is intended for excellent students, both undergraduate and graduate , to spend a short stay studying in the North American country.
Requirements
These scholarships to study in Canada are for:
- Chilean students , undergraduate or graduate.
- Enrolled full-time in an institution beyond secondary school, in Chile.
- In addition, they must be paying tuition and fees to the institution at the time of application. They will also pay it during the exchange.
They cannot participate
- Those who have obtained Canadian citizenship or have applied for permanent residence in that territory.
- Those who are participating in an exchange scholarship, with funds that come from the Government of that country.
- Nor does it mean that they have enrolled in a program at a Canadian university.
Other conditions
- Selected students will engage in full-time study or research , as defined by the receiving institution.
- They must also know the language in which they are taught. It can be English or French.
- Your arrival in the country will be in September for the fall semester or in January for the winter semester.
- Those scholarship holders who are pursuing a postgraduate degree must arrive between June 1, 2020 and no later than March 1, 2021.
- They will have the appropriate health insurance.
- Lastly, they will focus on their studies full-time during their stay.
How to register?
The registration process begins with the contact of the interested person with the parent institution to which they belong. You must submit a letter of intent, describing the nature of your research or studies.
In addition, it will include the rationale for studying in Canada and the choice of institution, program or supervisor.
It is important to understand that the student is not the one who registers, but rather the one who initiates it. It is the mother institutions who will identify the strongest candidates academically and who meet the requirements of the partner universities.
Finally, Canadian universities will apply for the call, sending the registration form and providing the supporting material for the candidacy. To do so, you must enter this site .
They will be able to share multiple student registrations. But these must be positioned in a ranking , based on strategic priorities.
Additionally, they must identify a person responsible for the administration of the program.
Scholarship selection
All online applications received will be reviewed to ensure they meet eligibility criteria. Those that do so will be evaluated by these criteria:
- Merit of the proposed research or study project that the student will do in Canada.
- Benefit for the parent institution.
- Convenience to the university of Canada.
- In addition to the quality of the contacts that will be created in the exchange.
What are the privileges of the scholarships?
Each of them will vary according to the duration and level of study. Financial aid for students will be:
- CAD $7,200 for undergraduate or graduate students for a minimum of four (4) months or one quarter.
- Or, CAD $9,700 for those studying a master’s or doctoral degree for five (5) to six (6) months.
In addition, universities will be able to pay for:
- Visa and study or work permit.
- Air travel for the intern.
- Health insurance.
- Living expenses, such as accommodation, food and utilities.
- Local public transportation expenses.
- Books and materials required for studies, excluding computers.

Canadian universities can submit applications until March 30 , 202024, at 11:59 p.m., Canadian time.
